Grapevine is hosting broadcasters

02:08 PM CST on Friday, February 10, 2006

From Staff Reports

The world of evangelical Christian radio and television is huge and, by most accounts, flourishing. Many of its leaders are about to convene near Dallas.

The annual meeting of the National Religious Broadcasters will bring 6,000 people to the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine for six days, beginning Friday.

Among the speakers will be two Dallas-area pastors well-acquainted with radio and TV – Jack Graham of Prestonwood Baptist Church and Tony Evans of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship (above).

You don't have to be a broadcaster to attend, but registration fees are steep: $695 for nonmembers.

On Friday, some of the leading women of Christian broadcasting – Janet Parshall, Kay Arthur, Joni Eareckson Tada, June Hunt, Lois Evans and Shirley Rose – will take part in the daylong Women in Christian Media conference. Nonmembers' admission to that event is $125. For details, go to www.nrb.org.
