Born at the height of the great depression and listening to the Grand Ole Opry as a child, at the age of 8 Dottie Rambo started writing music. Today she has reportedly written and co-written between 700 and 2,500 songs. Her hits include " We Shall Behold Him", "I Go To The Rock", “Sheltered Within The Arms Of God”, “I Will Glory In The Cross”, “He Saw Beyond My Fault”, and many more. Her songs have been recorded by an impressive list of gospel and secular artists alike, including Elvis Presley (“If That Isn’t Love”), Barbara Mandrell, The Oakridge Boys , Whitney Houston, Sandi Patty, Dolly Parton, Bill & Gloria Gaither, Steve Green, Imperials, Dottie West to name a few. Dottie has appeared on numerous television programs on virtually every Christian network as well as the TNN, PAX, and GMT channels. She had her own successful series, "Dottie Rambo Magazine" in the 1980s on TBN which was the No.1 rated program on the network for six years and has rerun on and off ever since. She also has been a regular guest on Bill Gaither’s syndicated Gaither Homecoming program. She is the recipient of numerous awards and other honors over the years she has been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame on two occasions Her most recent CD, Stand By The River won two "Christian Music Fan Awards", for “Song of The Year” and “Duo of The Year” (with Dolly Parton) Now back in the studio, Dottie has begun the recording of a new album. There will be some oldies, but there will also be some new hits too. |
